I did a solo visit to the Guimet Museum, the national French museum for Asian art. The Guimet houses a vast collection of traditional art from China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The center portion of the knife shown below is a construct know as a vajra, or dorje, a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism. It appears frequently in Buddhist art.

Quite a few years ago, Stephanie and I were intrigued by the mysterious contours of the vajra. We had two matching pendants made using the vajra motif. We recently got gold wedding rings using vajra designs.
